Maya & Jordan

The sun goes down on Big Sur

Maya and Jordan standing close together on a Big Sur clifftop, backlit by the golden-hour sun over the Pacific.

Scroll — the sun goes down on this page.

Chapter One

Maya planned the trip

She booked the cabin, mapped the switchbacks, and highlighted three overlooks in a shared doc Jordan never opened. One coastline, north to south — and somewhere along it, the arguing about who plans better was supposed to stop.

Chapter Two

Jordan packed the ring

Jordan proposing to Maya on a hiking trail high above the ocean, both of them mid-laugh.

His version

“There was a hawk. I waited for the hawk to come around the ridge — timing is everything. Then I knelt.”

Her version

“There was no hawk. He knelt on a loose rock, tipped sideways, and I caught his arm. That's the whole timing.”

They've told it a hundred times. It has never once matched.

Chapter Three

Where the coast said stop

A shelf of granite two hundred feet above the water, where the wind drops for about as long as a ceremony takes. This is where they'll stand — where the coastline finally agreed with both of them at once.

Chapter Four

The first dance

Maya and Jordan dancing close at night under a canopy of string lights, foreheads touching.
